August von Earlshide (アウグスト フォン アールスハイド Augusuto fon Ārusuhaido) is the crown prince of the Earlshide Kingdom and the close friend of Shin Wolford. He has a cousin-like relationship because of the relationship between Diseum von Earlshide (August's father) and Merlin Wolford (Shin's adoptive grandfather). He is also a member of Ultimate Magic Research Society and ranks 2nd in first year S-Class.
Appearance[]
August is a handsome young man with short blond hair, blue eyes and an average build for someone of his age.
Personality[]
Gus, as a prince was brought up in an adult environment; thus when he met and was associated with Shin, his more natural personality was shown. His personality is very similar to Diseum von Earlshide (August's father).
He likes to tease others like Shin Wolford and even May von Earlshide (August's little sister). He also likes to manipulate and is very cunning so he was called 'Black-Hearted Prince' by Shin as he was always being led by Gus.
August has immense loyalty to his family's law. He won't tolerate any excuses from the nobles of using their status of mistreating citizens and force engage other noble heirs to wedding which is considered to be forbidden such as Kurt von Ritzburg for his mistreating the "commoners" and harassing Sicily.
Due to his different attitude towards Shin, it led Thor von Flegel and Julius von Littenheim to feel pressured because they were both close to him since they were young but Gus never talked to them in a common fashion. Elizabeth von Coral (August's fiancee) found it irritating too so much that she felt left out and have been jealous with Shin albeit thinking the two might be lovers. Gus' later eased her mind after he pushed Shin to confess to Sicily von Claude.
Gus loves to manipulate Shin into awkward and embarrassing situations.

Chronology[]
Shin Wolford meets August on their first day of school and he is pleased that Shin doesn't treat him like anything special. After the initial testing, August is placed in S-Class.
